Susi’s roots in New Hanover County run deep. Her paternal grandfather, Randy
Holladay was a barber at the Wilmington Hotel until it was demolished in the 1960’s,
when he moved his business to Walnut Street, and her grandmother, Susi, worked at
Sutton Council Furniture for 30 years.

The Holladay’s raised their family in Castle Hayne, in a house on the corner
of Victoria Lane and Castle Hayne Road, which still stands today.
Both Susi’s and husband Steve’s fathers graduated from New Hanover High School in 1961.
Susi and Steve have been married for 13 years, and they have a 5 year
old daughter, Parker Elizabeth. They have lived in downtown Wilmington since 1998.
Susi has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, from UNC Wilmington,
2004 and a Bachelor of Arts in History, UNC Chapel Hill, 1994.

Her sense of community, service and entrepreneurship have dominated her career. Susi’s
business friendly values and strong sense of public participation make her the obvious
choice for leadership in NC General Assembly. |
